Two Quick Notes

  1. Don’t let the last couple non-technical related posts fool you. Stay tuned in the coming days/weeks for lots of juicy .NET/software development related posts as that will be the focus of ths blog. I’ve just been trying to build up some cool content quickly to acclimate the new setup.
  2. I hope Kansas loses to Missouri tonight :)

Let it be known that I did call the Kansas upset this evening. Chase Daniels is just too damn good.

The PBF

If anyone is unfamiliar with The Perry Bible Fellowship (The PBF) comic strip series then you need to check it out right now. No it isn’t religious at all, the name is meant to be somewhat of a misnomer/joke. Anyways I’ve been a zealous reader of the strip for years and the writer (Nicholas Gurewhitch) finally got a collection of his comics published. For people that live in cool cities (like Seattle) this comic is actually printed in their local newspapers. For the rest of us we just have to subscribe to the RSS feed to enjoy the latest editions.

The best part about Nicholas’ comics is that there are always hidden meanings so you end up spending a couple minutes trying to figure out exactly what he was thinking (unless you get it right away).

Here is an example of one of his newer strips:

There are a ton at his site that will provide you with lots of enjoyment for hours :)

Hawaii Wins The WAC!

Hawaii Warriors

I’ve been a fan of Hawaii football for a couple years now ever since I noticed Colt Brennan’s cartoon-like stats. The team has always intrigued me because they have basically no running game yet are able to smoke defenses with their aerial circus. Tonight they had the opportunity to beat their division rival Boise State whom they’ve never beaten before and possibly get some cred with the BCS. Well, Brennan stepped up and put up 494 yards with 5 TDs, while Hawaii’s top three receivers all grabbed over a hundred yards in their 39-27 victory.

All-in-all it was a great game that further solidified how awesome June Jones is and more importantly why Colt Brennan should be seriously be considered for the Hiesman (Dennis Dixon and Pat White are beyond overrated).

Don’t let all this Colt Brennan talk fool you into thinking I’m not a strong supporter of our local talent. I still think Tim Tebow is the best all around quarterback in NCAA football this season. I guess you could say that Colt is my quarterback on the side.
