The Visual Studio & .NET Framework evangelism team has released a revision of the .NET 3.5 Enhancements Training Kit, updated to work with Visual Studio 2008 SP1 & .NET 3.5 SP1 RTM! The release includes updated hands-on-labs as well as new presentations, demo scripts, and miscelaneous event materials.

The following features had their labs updated in this release:

  • ASP.NET AJAX History
  • ASP.NET MVC
  • ASP.NET Dynamic Data
  • ADO.NET Data Services
  • ADO.NET Entity Framework

The following features had labs added in this release:

  • .NET Framework Client Profile
  • WCF 3.5 SP1

The following features have supporting presentations included in this release:

  • ASP.NET AJAX 3.5 SP1
  • ASP.NET MVC
  • ASP.NET Dynamic Data
  • ASP.NET Routing
  • ADO.NET Data Services
  • ADO.NET Entity Framework
  • WCF 3.5 SP1

The following features have supporting demos included in this release:

  • ADO.NET Data Services
  • ADO.NET Entity Framework

We also decided to include the one and two-day agendas that we used to run .NET 3.5 SP1 training events worldwide. Our goal was to make the kit provide an “event in a box”, where folks could download the kit and use the materials and agendas to run community events (i.e. code camps, user groups) that focused around .NET 3.5 Enhancements.

We hope to continue receiving feedback from the community in order to improve the quality of our future training kits. If you have any questions or comments about the training kit, or its contents, please feel free to email me.

    There is some confusion as to the relative status of .Net 3.5 SP1 and MVC.

    Given that MVC does not appear to be in the SP1 release…. what does this training material contain that references it?

    @Rory

    The kit contains hands-on-labs and PPT decks that make use of the ASP.NET MVC preview 4 bits.

    @Saravanan & Ashok

    If you want to benefit from the training you just have to download the kit from the mentioned link in the post. If you have any questions about any of the specific technologies, etc. feel free to email me.

    Hi Jonathan,

    I downloaded the traiing kit forom microsoft site today. It seems some content is missing:
    I missing the Deep Dive into the ADO.NET Entity Framework stuff in the ADO.NET Entity Framework folder. It has a word doc but that looks pretty much the same as the one in the Introduction to the ADO.NET Entity Framework folder.

    Could you advise.

    Best regards,
    Martin
