My name is Jonathan Carter, but you can call me JC. I am from the beautiful state of Florida but am currently residing in the equally as beautiful (the comparison is arguable) state of Washington. I have been parading around as a software developer for the last 7 years and have been blessed enough to stumble upon some pretty awesome opportunities and people along the way. I am currently acting as the technical evangelist for the .NET framework and Visual Studio at Microsoft.

The title “Lost In Tangent” comes from my inherent inability to restrain myself from continuous learning, which breeds a life in which I constantly find myself consumed by something new.

It’s a two-edged sword…

Aside from all things geeky, I’m a massive sports freak. I’ve spent the better part of my conscious life listening to sports talk radio (Jim Rome is the man!) all day long at work which has harbored quite a fiery angst in me. I love debating/ranting about stats and players, playing the devil’s advocate, and defending the underdog. Football is by the far the most superior sport. Baseball is beautiful and comes in at a close second.

I love music in ways that probably aren’t normal. I used to be a writer for numerous magazines and have been involved with many music-based e-zines over the years and as a result have experienced substantial taste evolutions over time.

If you care to discuss anything from software architecture patterns to web design best practices to why the BCS is a load of crap or why Sweden produces the most beautiful music in the world, feel free to contact me and/or stay tuned to my blog.
